Privacy Policy

Short version: We collect only the information needed to deliver your report, process your payment, and follow up about the service. We do not sell your data. We do not place advertising. Your parcel coordinates are used solely for analysis and are not shared with third parties.

1. Who We Are

CFIUSCheck is a research and analysis tool operated by Robert J. Green, an independent researcher based in Melbourne, Florida, USA. Contact: privacy@cfiuscheck.com

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information you provide

Contact information (name, firm/company, work email, role) provided when accessing demo reports or submitting a paid analysis request.
Parcel coordinates (latitude, longitude, and optionally county FIPS code) submitted for analysis.
Payment information processed by Stripe, Inc. We do not receive or store full card numbers. Stripe’s privacy policy governs payment data: stripe.com/privacy.

2.2 Information collected automatically

Server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamps) retained by Cloudflare, Inc. for security and performance. Cloudflare’s privacy policy: cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
No tracking cookies. CFIUSCheck does not use advertising cookies, pixel trackers, or third-party analytics services.

3. How We Use Your Information

To generate and deliver the CFIUS proximity analysis report you requested.
To process payment and manage your subscription account.
To send you a follow-up communication about CFIUSCheck (you may opt out at any time by replying to any email).
To improve the accuracy and coverage of the analysis tool.
To comply with applicable law.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Data Retention

Contact information and analysis records are retained for up to twelve (12) months in Cloudflare Workers KV storage. Payment records are retained as required by applicable law and Stripe’s data retention policies. You may request deletion of your data at any time (see Section 7).

5. Data Security

All data is transmitted over TLS/HTTPS. Data at rest is stored in Cloudflare’s infrastructure, which maintains SOC 2 Type II certification. Access to stored data is restricted to authorized personnel only. No system is perfectly secure; in the event of a data breach, we will notify affected users as required by applicable law.

6. Third-Party Services

Stripe, Inc. — payment processing. Stripe is PCI DSS Level 1 certified.
Cloudflare, Inc. — hosting, CDN, and DDoS protection.
OpenStreetMap / Nominatim — address geocoding (address queries only, not stored).
Leaflet.js — client-side map rendering (no data transmitted).

We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third-party services.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

Access the personal information we hold about you.
Request correction of inaccurate information.
Request deletion of your information.
Object to or restrict processing of your information.
Data portability (where technically feasible).

California residents (CCPA): You have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion, and to opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information.

EU/EEA and UK residents (GDPR/UK GDPR): The legal basis for processing your data is (a) performance of a contract when you purchase a report or subscription, and (b) legitimate interests in operating and improving the service. You have the right to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority.

8. Children’s Privacy

CFIUSCheck is a professional service directed at legal and compliance professionals. We do not knowingly collect information from persons under the age of 18.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page with a revised effective date. Continued use of the service after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
